"As we enter the holy season of Advent, the Church invites us to slow down, watch, and prepare our hearts for the coming of the Lord. These weeks before Christmas are marked by a quiet yet profound anticipation--an invitation to renew our trust in God, to awaken our sense of hope in God's promises, and to recognize the many ways Christ is present among us even now." From Bishop Senior: “As we look toward 2026, we prepare to celebrate an extraordinary milestone—the 60th anniversary of The Catholic Witness, the official publication of the Diocese of Harrisburg. In this anniversary year, we will honor that legacy by launching a new chapter—The Catholic Witness Magazine. This quarterly, printed publication will allow us to tell the story of our Diocese in an even more vibrant and engaging way.” Read the full statement by clicking here.
Volunteers needed for YorkGiving (Catholic Harvest Food Pantry's annual Thanksgiving Dinner program) the weekend of Nov. 22nd and 23rd. Go to www.yorkgiving.com for details and signups. Much help is necessary to provide a turkey and the sides to thousands of our low-income neighbors. This is also a perfect family volunteer opportunity at this time of giving.
