On this World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, I want to offer a message of hope to those who may feel forgotten or isolated. The Church has not forgotten you.

St. Joseph Church & School is seeking a maintenance/custodian to work Monday through Friday 9 AM-3 PM. This position is responsible for all aspects of cleanliness, refuse/recycling removal, and sanitation of the bathrooms, offices, common spaces, and conferences rooms around the parish buildings. The diocese of Kohima, covering the entire state of Nagaland, at the extreme northeast of India bordering Myanmar, is a relatively new mission territory. It has been only 74 years since the first Catholic Baptism in Nagaland. As you know, the so-called golden triangle of drug smuggling in the world starts from Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar, and passes through the Northeast to the rest of the world. Naturally, there are many people addicted to drugs and consequently affected by HIV/AIDS. The specific project the mission appeal is to build a shelter home for the children affected by HIV/AIDS or children whose parents died of the disease.

The Columbiettes run the kitchen at the Knights of Columbus Bingo each Thursday at St. Joseph’s School Cafeteria. We are looking for volunteers to assist us in the kitchen.

Due to the Carnival, there are changes to the Saturday vigil Mass on June 20th. Confessions will be from 2:30 to 3:30 PM, with the vigil Mass at 4 PM.

The Diocese of Harrisburg recently partnered with the Steier Group to test the feasibility and potential support for a major initiative to fund several key priorities. The study was conducted from January through March 2026, and we received feedback from over 2,100 participants. The goal of the study was to gain insights from clergy, faithful donors and parishioners across the diocese. At the conclusion of the study, the Steier Group presented its findings and recommendations. As such, we will begin preparations for a major fundraising initiative this month.
